Cow & Boy
Launched just two months ago, Mark Leiknes' Cow & Boy is already enjoying great success, as well as favorable comparisons to Bill Watterson's classic comic strip. One fan writes, "Not since Calvin and Hobbes has a comic made me laugh so hard!" Cow & Boy appears in such major market publications as the Denver Rocky Mountain News, the Detroit Free Press, and the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.
The beautifully drawn strip stars Billy, a regular boy who enjoys fishing, biking, and hanging out with his best friend named Cow, who just happens to have four stomachs and a set of udders. Billy's parents and sister Tracy don't really understand the bond shared by Billy and Cow, but their friendship is unwavering and the duo finds comedy and adventure in all corners of the farm where they reside. Cow & Boy has also found a growing audience on the Web; if you haven't seen it yet, check it out at http://www.comics.com/comics/cowandboy/index.html.

Tune In To the Comics (Caution: May contain spoilers!)
We’ve used our crystal ball to peer into the future of your favorite strips, and bring you back some hints of what may come.
Alley Oop Life is looking rosy for Alley Oop; thanks to some clever advice from Doc Wonmug, Alley was finally able to show Ooola how much he cares. Ooola loved her Valentine’s dance lessons and all of Moo is signing up to tango…but over in Lem, trouble is brewing. Could war be coming to Moo? Tune in!
Barkeater Lake While our intrepid ex-bobsledders Chuck and Banks traveled to Italy for the Olympics, they left their beloved bar in the care of the town’s principal and the local hypochondriac. Jack and Allen burned down the bar, but that won’t stop the boys from trying to turn a profit. Next stop, Delores’ house! Isn’t having a keg on tap in her kitchen every girl’s dream?
Monty Conspiracy theories abound in this bitingly satirical plot line. Monty fell overboard while taking an AARP cruise and is now stranded on the same island as the cast of that popular TV show about a plane crash…and he has his suspicions about the identity of the “Others”. Where this is going to go is anyone’s guess. Don’t miss it!
Pibgorn Not sure how to study for your English Lit. test on “A Midsummer Night’s Dream?” Tune in to Pibgorn! Brooke McEldowney interprets Shakespeare in the latest plot line, and you’ll find all of your favorite Pibgorn characters filling the roles of Hermia, Lysander, Demetrius, and Theseus. If you’re a true McEldowney aficionado, you might notice a few of the folk from 9 Chickweed Lane, too…
Sheldon Lately the boys have been indulging in some bowling alley philosophy, but whether it’s advice on bachelor living or the latest on nerdophilia, Sheldon delivers. And speaking of delivery…we’ve heard a rumor that we can’t believe! Could Arthur be thinking of fatherhood? The pitter-patter of wee webbed feet just may be ringing off in the distance…

Illegal Names by Scott Adams
"There are plenty of laws against activities for no reason other than those activities
are annoying. For example, you can't make too much noise and bother
your neighbors late at night, you can't litter, and you can't walk
around naked in public. These are good laws but we should add some more.
I propose making it illegal to give your baby an inconvenient name.
At the top of the list would be Christine and Christina. No one can be
expected to keep all the various Christini straight. Parents (perps)
are dooming these Christin(x) to a life of correcting and explaining.
My usual strategy with the various Christini is to emphasize the first syllable
with confidence and then trail off to a mumble and quickly change the
topic.
Example:
Me: Hi Christi(mumble), look out for that mountain lion behind you!
Just kidding!"
Think that’s funny? Log on to The Dilbert Blog for more. Scott Adams’ daily rants and hilarious observations make a dull work day a little brighter.
