“Silo Roberts” Cuts Cross Court to the NBA

Silo Roberts is crossing over to the world of sports. Throughout the opening round of the NBA Playoffs, NBA.com featured Silo’s creator Rob Cabrera presenting Miami Heat superstar Dwyane Wade with the original artwork of the comic published in newspapers nationwide and online on December 4, 2005. The five-minute piece, titled "Wade featured in comic strip," can be viewed at nba.com. The feature shows how Wade has been able to connect with fans and younger comic readers through Silo Roberts, and gives an in-depth view of how Cabrera brings the strip to life in the funny pages. The Silo Roberts/Dwyane Wade comic strip is also being made into a series of limited-edition Topps trading cards. The four-card sets was released in May 2006, with 300 of the 2,000 special cards signed by Wade and Cabrera. The cards mark a very rare occasion, in which a daily comic strip becomes sports memorabilia.

Your time is probably coming.
