Holiday Strip - Spotting Santa
With the holidays in sight, Comics.com is sharing the spirit with our annual holiday comic strip. This year's special series is SPOTTING SANTA by cartoonist Mark Heath, creator of Spot the Frog.
A few days before Christmas, Spot's friend and landlord Karl comes home with a surprise for Spot and his fellow frog, Buddy: Karl has grown a beard. The beard makes him look so much like Santa Claus that Spot and Buddy start to believe Karl really is Santa. The frog friends decide to travel to the North Pole to try to prove Karl's true identity. Along the way they discover that some travel guides are more reliable than others, that a frog in winter should never be without a hat, and Karl's true connection to Santa.
SPOTTING SANTA begins on November 29 and culminates on Christmas Day, December 25. See SPOTTING SANTA online at www.comics.com/neaholiday.

Chickweed Lane is Changing Its Address…
There's always drama at this address, but these days it's taking place in toe shoes and tails as Edda Burber, one of the central characters in Brooke McEldowney's 9 Chickweed Lane, gets her chance to audition for a prestigious ballet company. The plot is thick with emotion as well when Edda's longtime friend, Amos, undergoes a startling transformation as he steps forward to accompany her on the piano.
Likewise, Juliette's lot in life changes dramatically when Edda leaves, spurring her to realize a dream: to dump her academic job and take up a more agrarian, self-sufficient way of living - something, she hopes, involving chickens and sheep dip. Be sure to keep up with all the women of Chickweed at: http://www.comics.com/comics/chickweed/index.html
